Final day in DC.... This was my favorite day by far. We were supposed to have rain, but the weather turned out bright and clear. We hopped on the bus and headed to the memorials. The first one we visited was the Lincoln Memorial. It is so gorgeous and gigantic. It is so amazing to read about all that he did. The next memorial we went to was the Korean War memorial. The wall had these beautiful carvings of soldiers faces and this amazing jungle scene to depict what is was like there for soldiers. Then we headed to the Vietnam memorial. It was so beautiful, but so sad to think about all of those men who lost their lives. We ended the tour with the WW2 Memorial. It was gorgeous too. It had a wreath for every state and this beautiful pool in the middle. You could see the Washington Monument from there. There were tons of people flying kites, playing football or frisbee, or just lounging around it. It was so amazing to be in the Nations capital. We had lunch at a hot dog vendor and loaded up to head to the Potomac Mills mall. It was huge. Even though our girls were complaining about being tired at the memorials they walked every inch of the mall....

It is so automatic to smile for photos
But the further you walk down the wall and see all of the names and the 1000's of men we lost you no longer want to smile.
