Baby Blues...
Today, things have gotten to me. I really miss my babies. They have been gone for about ten days now and I miss them so much. It is like an ache in my chest. I don't feel whole without them. It is a big adjustment going from taking care of 4 kids to only 1. I have so much time on my hands and with things not going well with Kalin makes it even worse. The house is quiet. There is not much laughter and the tension is so thick. I have really called upon my neighbors. Trying to get out of the house as much as I can without really going anywhere.. Thank goodness I only have a few more days of this to endure... Moral of the story.. Don't get divorced.. IT'S HARD FOREVER!!!

Open Mic Night...
Last night I went to an open mic night night with Samantha. The place was really neat. A wine and weird beer bar... When we first got there we did some wine tasting and then Samantha started singing. Wow... She was so good and has such a beautiful voice. Almost everyone there came up to me to tell me how great they thought she was. I was in awe. The way she just walked up there and started singing. It was effortless. It was really nice to hang out with a friend here. After Samantha finished wowing the place, we just hung out for a min and talked. Sometimes as a wife and mother you find that you sometimes get lost. You focus so much on taking care of everyone else that you forget about yourself. So, it was a great blessing to be out and doing something I have never done before. It was my very first open mic. I ended buying a bottle of the wine I was drinking. It was pretty good. Buying wine is a daunting task. There is only like a million different kinds. And when I got home my honey was waiting up for me.. Does it get any better..

Life with just one kid....
Well, things have been very different around here.... The three middle kids are gone to their dad's house in Delaware till the 5th of July.... I don't know what to do without my kids.. Lincoln is a wonderful playdate and fun to hang out with. But he is only just one and pretty quiet when he is by himself. Luckily, I have been able to spend some time with Samantha and Lucas and Olivia. They have helped to keep me occupied. I have enjoyed the freedom of being able to watch a movie during the day and to just be able to relax. But life is just not the same without my babies. I will enjoy this vacation. But already I am counting down the days till the kids are back.
Izabella's Recital
Izabella had her first dance/gymnastics recital. It was at the Ferguson Center for the arts in Newport News.. Dress rehersal was on Friday and it went very well. I was able to get some video. The actual show on Saturday was amazing though. Early Saturday morning Larry and I went to the florist to get her some flowers for after the show. We managed to keep them a surprise from her. After the show, only one parent can pick her up. Bella was asking me why all these girls have flowers. I told her that it is customary for a dancer to get flowers after her show. She just looked at me all sad and asked, Where are my flowers? I just smiled and pointed and told her to ask her Daddy. Larry was standing there with her flowers. She was so happy to see that her dad got her flowers. The recital was fun.. Izabella did a wonderful job and since we were in the third row I also got a wave. We watched the company dancers perform a lot of their numbers. It would really be neat to see Izabella dancing like that. But some of those girls were in everything and it makes you wonder. What kind of life does this girl have outside of dancing? How many injuries has she had to her body. So, maybe Izabella just sticks to her one class for now and see what happens in the future. And for now... I have the best gymnast at the whole gym... I am so proud.

Fifth Grade Carnival and Kickball Game
Both of these events were a lot of fun. I met some wonderful mothers at the carnival. There were some power issues. The sticky wall and the popcorn maker threw the breaker and we spent a great deal of time trying to fix it. And a whole lot of talking about what is going to be done...Lol.. But in the end it all worked out. the kids had a blast and the day ending with the teachers getting a pie in the face was so funny.
The Fifth Grade Kickball game was also a blast. I got run over by Gvanta.. That sucked. But I got right back up and caught a nice foul kick for an out. The teachers and parents against the fifth grade class. We won 8-3.. But we had so much fun the score didn't matter. It was very neat to be able to do something like that on a school wide level. Lakeside was so big that you couldn't know everyone in the same grade much less the whole school. After the activities of the week I feel like we are part of the school now. I learned a lot about the teachers that day too. Mrs. Bridges and Lacek are as competitive as me. Mrs. Fike and Mr. Cochran are just out there to have fun. Sebastian's teacher, Mrs. Kindley played also.. One of the moms, managed to kick two homeruns. Wow.. while wearing jeans. I just thought I knew what I was doing..
The School Year is over.....
Wow... It has been a wild and crazy school year.. But the end is here.. This week in itself has been wild and crazy. The Fifth Grade carnival and the kickball game against the teachers and today the graduation ceremony. I can't believe my baby girl is growing up so fast. She is moving out of the elementary school world where things are happy and good into Middle School. Where hormones are raging, puberty is happening and everything is new and scary...... I told myself I wasn't going to cry when I got to the school. I did ok until the music started. It just really make me think... Soon she is going to graduate from high school. As always, it made me think of my graduation and my mom. Mostly I was thinking, what kind of woman will be baby girl be.. What will she accomplish in her life.. and ready or not here it comes. Although she will always be my baby, more and more each day she is growing to become her own woman...

Field Day 2010....
The kids had Field Day on Friday... It was a lot of fun, but very different from what we are used to. There were no ribbons and no winners or losers which was nice. Just a bunch of kids playing games and having fun. Larry came with me and we tag teamed to watch the kids. But unfortunatly both Sebastian and Bella were doing field day at the same time. I didn't like that at all. At lakeside every grade had field day on their own day. But this was still fun. They had some great games and it was nice to be at the school and everyone is getting to know us and be familiar with us. And I might be a little biased, but my kids kicked butt all day.
Here is some video of the kids line dancing. It is so cute. Can't believe Sebastian actually did it.
