Callie.....

Well my girl is determined to grow up..  Friday night she had her first dance.  She looked so beautiful.  Hannah's mom picked her up and the two went together.  When she got back she looked so happy.  She had a great time.  Danced the night away.  But man, I felt old and a little sad that she is growing up.

Then on Saturday morning she had her first fall ball game.  Her team played the state champions from last year.  And I will admit that I thought we were going to get creamed.  But they played great.  Callie was a superstar and they won.  I was so very proud of Callie.  She is turning into an amazing ball player. 

Lincoln's First Day of Preschool

When eating lunch with Bella I noticed a flyer for preschool.  I called it and it turns out they do a scholarship program.  On Monday, Lincoln and I went to check it out.  Mondays are playgroup.  So, from 9:30 to 11:30 Lincoln and I played with some other kids and their moms.  It was a lot of fun.  When we walked in we already knew his teacher.  So, we decided to do the Wed. and Fri. preschool class. Lincoln's first day of preschool was a great one.  He was really nervous and wouldn't really let me take his pic.  When he first got there he would not let me go.  I reminded him about how he told me the night before that I couldn't stay.  He was going to school like a big boy.  It was so hard not to cry leaving my baby.  When I came back and picked him up he was so happy.  He said he had the best day of his life.  School was so much fun and he couldn't wait to go back.  Today we had playgroup again and Linc was a lot more relaxed.  He played so hard.  His favorite is the kitchen with a stove, fridge and dishwasher.  He spent an hour feeding the babies...  It was so cute to watch.  Then we played trucks, had snack and then block time.  Finally it was song time.  Lincoln didn't jump with joy but he participated more today than last week.  He even sang the songs when we got home.  It was so cute.  I love being able to spend this time just playing with my boy.  At home you get caught up a lot in the dishes, laundry.... Ect.....This is a treasured time...I can't believe how fast it flies.

The first few days he was very nervous.  He is really starting to enjoy it now though...

Church Picnic...

Friday we had a our fall kickoff, church picnic at New Quarter Park.  It was so much fun.  I just love an old fashioned church picnic.  There are all kinds of people hanging out.  The older folks in the shade.  Kids running around and riding their bikes. The grill going and every kind of food and dessert you can imagine.  Hugs are exchanged and family stories are swapped.  We really are starting to find our place here in Williamsburg.

After the picnic we all ran home to watch the Alabama VS Penn State game.  Kirk, Jen and the kids came over.  So did Melisa, Tom, and Sean.  It was a lot of fun to have everyone over.  Until Kota decided to put playdough in the fish tank.  So, I missed most of the game changing out the 30 gallon tank.  Somehow all of the fish survived.  I couldn't believe it.  Everyone had a wonderful day.

Grove Christian Outreach....

Thursday Miracle, Bella and I voluntered our time to GCO.  They were putting on a carnival to distribute school supplies to the children in need.  When we got there, I was amazed to see the love being showed to the community.  They had carnival games, bounce house, popcorn, cotton candy, pizza, hot dogs, and snow cones.  They had a rock wall for kids to climb and face painting.  There was a guy juggling on stilts.  It was so very cool.  Miracle and I were assigned the cotton candy machine.  Wow...  I had never done anything like this before.  there was definetly a learning curve.  I had cotton candy everywhere.  In my eyelashes, hands, hair....  I had so much fun though.  I really got to meet some sweet kids and Miracle was awesome.  She complimented every kid that came up to us.  For 2 hours we made cotton candy and passed it out.  We never stopped.  But the feeling of giving back is so amazing.  I used to be that kid.  The one who needed help.  Sometimes now we still are.  My motto in life is to always give more than I receive.

What a busy week we have had....

School started and things have just taken off.  Pta meetings, Callie's started softball. Church eventes..  It is neverending....  Wednesday night we had a special service at the church to interview a new pastor canidate.  His name is Fred Ligging and he is 32.  Married to Allyson, with one 18th month old.  Turns out Allyson is from Moulton.  (Right next to where I grew up)..  We graduated 3 years apart and know the same people.  He preached wonderfully and then had a Q&A.  I was so shocked by what followed.  Some of the older generation went wild.  Upset because he has been divorced.  They really gave it to him.  I could not understand that attitude.  People really are old fashioned and very specific in their convictions.  They really believe he should not be allowed to lead us even though they themselves had been divorced.  But the church voted him in. 94-7.  It was great to be a part of that process.  We are really starting to feel a part of the church now. 

First day of School 2010

Today was the first day of school.  And it always brings mixed feelings.  Happiness to get a break and see them learning.  Saddness to see them another year older.  Growing more and more.  Callie started Middle School today.  Wow... That's a very scary, exhilirating, and crazy place.  I remember my middle school days and it floors me to now be the mom of one.  The quiet of the day was so nice, even got Lincoln to take a nap.  But soon the buses will be here and life will get really crazy..  But I did really miss my babies today....

Blue Crab Special...

Blue crabs have been on sale lately so the last couple of weekends we have hung out with the neighbors and chowed down on crabs.  Tom and Melissa are such great friends.  But they will be leaving soon too.  The pitfalls of being in the military.  The kids really enjoying going to the store and buying live crabs and watching them be cooked.  They were so delicious.  It was my first time ever to have crabs and it was really enjoyed it.

More Birthdays....Larry is 45

A week after my big 30, Larry hit the big 45.  I think it made him a little sad to realize that things are not as easy as they once were and that it is just going to get harder from here.  I keep trying to remind him that age is a state of mind and every stage of life is a great one.  But who knows how I will feel when I hit 45.... His day was a busy one.  Work and home were both crazy. But I was able to cook him a great meal and to have cheesecake.  Then we surprised him with a Alabama jersey....  He loved it.
