On Sunday, January 16th, Callie and I went with the church to MACU, Mid-Atlantic Christian Un. in Elizabeth City, NC with our church. We left around 3. When we arrived we went to the college and participated in SNL, Sunday Night Live. There was a skit and a great christian band that rocked out. They told the story of the blind man Jesus gave sight to. They had everyone wear masks with the eye holes covered with tape. We wore the masks for three songs of whorship and 10 minutes of story telling. When we took the masks off they turned on a bunch of big lights. It was very bright and a great way of showing a little how the blind man felt. After SNL we went and ate Three Amigos. Everyone had paint on their faces from the masks. Yummy!!! After dinner we headed back to college to get our room assignments. Turns out we didn't get rooms. We had to sleep in the lobby with about 40 other girls. Everyone just grabbed a mattress.. It was loud and their were lights on all night. But we made due. I played Phase 10 with Callie and Megan and whooped butt. Around 2 I had to get on some girls for being loud and giggly. UGH!!! When we got up we went and grabbed breakfast and headed to an abandoned Middle School for a day of Service. We spent the day with 130 other kids cleaning up the school. There were people painting and washing windows and power washing toilets. We got the outside courtyard. We cut weeds and picked up trash and cut down bushes. It was hard work. But it was so meaningful. I was so proud of Callie. She worked hard and we had such a wonderful time. At the end of day we were able to say we cleaned this up for some kids who needed it. I felt so privelged to be able to do it. On the way home everyone was exhausted and happy.
